Bruce Levine

Operations Director

Bruce Levine was named men’s tennis coach at Muhlenberg in August 2016, bringing a wealth of knowledge of the game of tennis, along with owning plenty of experience as a coach and mentor. Levine served as interim women’s tennis coach at Vassar College in the spring of 2016, filling in for a coach who was on sabbatical. Vassar went 13-8, including a win against nationally ranked Skidmore, and finished the year ranked 18th in the Northeast Region.

Levine is the owner and CEO of tennis2tennis, a tennis consulting firm that works with tennis clubs regarding specific operational issues. He also conducts operational studies that include marketing, programming, staffing and operations. Before tennis2tennis, Levine was the general manager and partner at Courtside Racquet Club from 2005 to 2014. During his tenure at Courtside, Levine saw Courtside Racquet Club earn 2009 Facility of the Year by USTA National. Levine is the treasurer of the USTA Middle States Board of Directors, while also holding a chair of the Junior Development Committee of the USTA. He is a member of the National Adult Competition Committee, and is the incoming USPTA Middle States President. Levine was voted as the New Haven Register coach of the year in 2003 and 2004 while coaching the boys’ team at Amity Regional High School and was a faculty member of the World Tennis Congress in 2014 and 2015.

David Price

Tennis Director

David has over 30 years of experience coaching players of all levels from beginners to high performance players. Before coming to WVIT David was the Tennis Director at Philadelphia Sports Clubs for 11 years. During his many years of coaching he has served many roles to help develop players and grow the game of tennis. During his tenure coaching high school tennis, he coached numerous singles, doubles, and teams to win District titles and advance to state tournaments. In 2001, he coached the State College High School team to 2nd place in Pennsylvania. Many of his players have gone on to play college varsity tennis. David has worked and collaborated with numerous national and college coaches. He is a USPTA Elite Professional and was awarded USPTA Middle States Pro of the Year (2017). David has served on the USPTA Middle States Executive Board for 10 years. Currently, David serves as the USPTA Middle States 2nd Vice President

Dan Caragata

Head Pro

Dan has vast experience with all ages and all levels from beginners to tour level players. As a player, Dan represented Romania in International Competitions, he also played and won numerous tournaments throughout Europe. As a coach, Dan coached the “Under 21” Romanian National Team and coached several elite players on the WTA pro tour for 10 years. Dan has been the Tennis Director at various clubs on the East Coast including East River Tennis Club, NY, Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club, NY, and Sandy Hollow CC, Hamptons, NY. Dan is also USPTA Certified (United States Professional Tennis Assoc.) and has his B.A. in Physical Education, University of Physical Education and Sport, Bucharest Romania.

Jerry Muhlbauer

Staff Professional

Jerry Muhlbauer earned a BS in Education from East Stroudsburg University. At ESU he was state doubles champion in 1970. Jerry has experience playing Middles States sanctioned tournaments and USTA league team tennis. He is a member of the USPTR and received a certified coaching degree from the Vic Braden Tennis College in California in 1994. Whether it’s teaching kids and beginners learning to play the game, or the more advanced player, Jerry has the diversity and skill to take your game to the next level.

Allison JoanIanne

Staff Professional

Joanlanne spent four years as a professional tennis instructor at the Premier Athletic Club in Cortland Manor, New York and previously worked as a tennis instructor for the Department of Parks and Recreation in New York City. She holds a bachelor of science degree in sports management from Old Dominion University where she earned a tennis scholarship. Joanlanne is a member of the United States Tennis Association and is certified as a Professional Tennis Registry Instructor.

Chris Leicht

Staff Professional

Chris Leicht is the Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Wilkes University.  Leicht has coached the men’s team for 15 years and the women’s team for 14 years. During that time, he has amassed a combined record of 455-97 (.82 winning percentage), leading the women’s squad to eleven straight Freedom Conference crowns while the men have won ten consecutive championships. Chris is a 2000 graduate of Bloomsburg University, earning a degree in Business Administration. He also earned his Masters in Business Administration at Bloomsburg University. Leicht also serves as the Director of the Recreation and Athletic Center (RAC) at Wilkes University

Gabriella Lobitz

Staff Professional / Desk Staff

Gabriella first picked up a tennis racquet when she was seven and has been playing for nearly fifteen years. During high school, she played the number one spot on the girls’ team at MMI Preparatory school, as well as competed in USTA sanctioned tournaments. Gabriella attended Temple University and attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. During her tenure at Temple, she continued her tennis career on Temple’s club team. In the fall, Gabriella plans to attend the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University where she hopes to find some new hitting partners!

Sahil Garg

Staff Professional/Desk Staff

Sahil first started playing tennis when he was eleven years old. He was a member of Scranton Prep’s tennis team for 4 years, and in his last year had helped the team to advance to semifinals in the state championships at Hershey Racquet Club. Sahil is a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Biology, and a planned double major in Business.

Andrew Neidig

Staff Professional / Desk Staff

Andrew played tennis at Delaware Valley High School.  Ranked at number 1 for 3 years Andrew helped his team compete in districts.  Now in college, Andrew plays at Wilkes University for the Men’s Team and studies Sports Management and Marketing.

Francesca Varela-Seri

Francesca has spent most of her life in the tennis world starting at the age of six. Her father has been her coach ever since she started and has had the opportunity to work with his company for six years to gain experience teaching tennis. In addition, she worked as a tennis coach at Northampton Country Club for the past three years. Francesca played for Phillipsburg High School for her four years as first singles and competed in USTA tournaments when she was younger. Now, she is majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology at Wilkes University and plays on the Women’s Tennis Team. During the season, she had 21 wins playing singles and 22 wins with her doubles partner assisting the team in winning their 11th Straight MAC Freedom Championship.
